UJA suspends press freedom day activities until the burial of president emeritus Robert Kagolo

RE: UJA suspends WPFD activities due to demise of president emeritus Robert Kagolo

Uganda Journalists Association (UJA) is saddened by the unfortunate news of demise of its president emeritus Robert Kagolo.

The late was gunned down on Thursday at 8pm in Kasengejje, Wakiso district at his late brother’s house Samuel Musiitwa by the Local defense Unit identified as Mamuli Rashid

It’s upon this unfortunate incident that the UJA executive is suspending its World press freedom day planned activities until the burial of the president emeritus Kagolo.

The late was association’s president 2014- 2018 and he has been the head of production and current affairs talk show host at Star FM .

We ask for quick, comprehensive, transparent Investigations into the matter

UJA condoles with the bereaved family, friends, relatives and the media fraternity and prays that God strengthens us all through this trying moment.

TENTATIVE BURIAL PROGRAM 

Body viewing at UBC today 30th.4.2021 at 1pm.

Then today at 4pm there will be mass at St Stephen church- Nansana. 

There will be Vigil at his home on 30th.4.2021 in Nansana-Wamala.

Burial will be on 1st.05.2021 Saturday at Namabeya- Gomba at Noon at Wamala- Taba Zone.
