Uganda Journalists Association UJA @60 won the World Press Freedom Media Media Football Gala that took place at City High Secondary School, Kampala on Sunday 5th May 2024.

UJA @60 beat TV West/ Urban Television by two goals to nil.

The event was participated in by 30 media houses and non-media houses which were grouped in four.

It should be noted by during the 2022 WPFD celebrations, The Uganda Journalists Association adopted sport including football as a new innovative tool of advocacy for press freedom since sport is a unifier of all players that are charged with the duty of ensuring the enjoyment of press freedom in Uganda.

All participating teams registered with the organizing team at a fee of 50,000 shs. only- media houses/ organizations and 200,000 shs, via 0775 271 777 and 0755 339 947, to help with preparations.
