We are very disturbed by the brutal attack on one of our own Miracle Ibra, a journalist with Top Tv who has been badly hit this afternoon with an explosive by the security personnel while in line of professional duty.
Ibra was attacked when he covered a story of a blocked NUP Kawempe North parliamentary flag bearer political meeting Erias Luyimbazi Nalukoola at Kawempe Mbogo on Wednesday afternoon.
Shockingly, the journalist had put on his media house branded jacket when he was brutally attacked by the security personnel.
We strongly condemn these acts of impunity by the security personnel who are charged with the duty of ensuring the protection of journalists.
Going forward , we are going to announce our next move in respect to that promptly after the ongoing assessment.
