UJA holds draws for world press freedom day media sports gala

The Uganda Journalists Association (UJA) an umbrella body that unites all journalists in the country has on Tuesday held draws for the first ever football media gala in commemoration of the World Press Freedom Day.

The media football Gala will take place on 1 May 2022 at Philip Omondi Stadium-Lugogo , while UJA Media Dinner will be hold on May 3rd. the D-day for World Press Freedom Day celebrations

The activity was held at Hotel Africa in a news conference which was attended by various corporate companies also the sponsors of the Gala which include: Total Energies, CNOOC, Stanbic Uganda, Stanndard Chartered Bank, Katumwa Sports Center, VIP Water, Cooperate League league, KCCA, ERA, Mayor Salim Uhuru, Hotel Africana, Case Hospital and KACITA-Uganda

Winner of the Gala will be awarded with a trophy and one million shillings, first run up will get a trophy and 700,000 shillings, second runner up will get a trophy and 500000 shilling, most disciplined team will be awarded 300,000 shillings, male and female top scorers will be awarded 200,000 each.

The games will be played by seven aside and as a requirement each team must have a lady in it. Group Rankings
